When you use ScholrZA, we may collect:
- Account information — your name and email when you sign in with Google or Facebook
- Profile picture — your photo from your Google or Facebook account
- Usage data — features you use, bookmarks you save
- Device information — browser type, device type, general location (country/region)
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Personalise your experience
- Save your preferences and bookmarks
- Send you important account updates
- Improve our platform and fix bugs
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
When you sign in using Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from those services. We only use this to create your account.
Your sign-in is handled securely via Supabase Auth. We never see or store your Google or Facebook password.
We use cookies and local storage to:
- Keep you signed in between visits
- Remember your bookmarks and preferences
- Measure site performance
You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Your account data is stored securely on Supabase servers. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and at rest.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing us.

- GNews / NewsData API — news articles
- Vercel — website hosting
- Resend — email notifications
- Groq / Anthropic — AI assistant

- Request deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

ScholrZA is intended for users aged 16 and older (university/college students). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
